In this blog, I will try to explain my visa application experience, as well as how and why I have rejected a Turkish student visa.
Note: The Turkish consulate doesn’t provide you any detail about why your visa was rejected, and neither did Gerry’s.

📝Planning

So far, I’ve prepared to study abroad for my master’s degree, so I’ve decided to apply away and learn as much as I could about university scholarships and the visa process, after which I’ve filtered down numerous universities in Estonia, Germany, and Turkey where I may apply. Despite the fact that I had created an excel sheet with such a list of university dates and prerequisites (let me know if you want it)

🎓Got Admission

Finally, I was thrilled to get accepted into one of Turkey’s prestigious universities (Uskudar university). Right now, I’m not going to talk about how I obtained my admittance and what the benchmarks are. I’ll talk about all of that in the next blog, so stay connected. So it’s time to be ready for the visa process.

🚀Student Visa Process

I went to Gerry’s office (Gerry’s visa facilitation services in Pakistan) and requested a print of the student visa application checklist. Therefore, following the checklist, I prepared all of those documents steps by step and submitted them to Gerry’s office before 14 days (I will explain to you why need to take 14 days gap in the next blog How to apply for a Student visa in Turkey) After 10 days, I received a call from Gerry’s to collect my passport, and then when I went there to give my Identity card for verification, they handed my passport and told me that my student visa request has been refused, that surprised me.

✍️Reattempt

After surviving this tragedy, I was unsure of what I needed to do after that, and the most stupid thing I did was to quit my job because I was pretty sure that who could refuse a Turkish visa, and I was pretty excited to begin my new adventure, but everything was f***ed (please don’t do what I did), so one of Gerry’s representatives told me now That I can apply again if I would like because I was applying a second attempt.

Note: If you applied for a Turkish visit visa and were rejected, you will not be eligible to apply for another one for 3 months. If your application for a student visa was refused, students can reapply after 24 hours.

As a result, I decided to reapply. Again, a Turkish student visa is required. But first, I was preparing my paperwork in a more orderly way (I notarized all of my documents and had shown more financial records worth a total of around 8,00,000 PKR) and I inquired about evidence of the source of the fund confirmation call from my office HR, who told me that they had not got any call for me. Sadly, the experience letter I received from my office was just an old one, and the contact information was from an old place, hence why they did not take calls. I requested my HR to reprint the up to date letterhead, and I planned it all and submitted it once again thru Gerry’s four days after the refusal.

Guess what, after only 7 days, I received a phone call to collect my passport at Gerry’s. Despite the fact that they confirmed my source of money, I was still turned down.

🥳Finally Got My Visa

As you are aware, my Visa has been denied twice, so I was thinking about leaving and moving in a new direction, but I had something on my mind that perhaps this time I will get my Student visa because I am not a quitter and I want to do my best for last time, so I chose to take some period spoke with my university’s admissions department to move forward my intake into next semester. I should say, my academic coordinators, have been incredibly helpful to me.

I submitted my Student visa application towards the end of January 2021, but I updated something in my application this time, and I never added my job letter or any letter of recommendation. As I stated previously, I quit my job, therefore I showed that I am an independent UI/UX designer with the sole intention of finishing my education because I received a 75% scholarship. I got a call from the Turkish consulate in Karachi for an interview after several days, which amazed me since they’ve never required me earlier. I suppose my case was distinct, so they invited me for an interview and asked me some basic questions.

Why do you want to go to Turkey?
Why Turkey?
Will you do the job over there?
What is your program and what is the duration of that?

I responded, and I believe my response satisfied them. They then informed me that they would send my papers to ANKARA, who will assist me on my docs and provide me with an answer. I got a call from Gerry’s to collect my passport approximately 21- days later. On just that, I told myself, “Lol comical line (let us go to the last ride to Gerry’s after I collect my passport, I was really thrilled with hard work and determination will repay you surely I received my Turkish visa.” I will discuss how to apply for a Turkey Student Visa and Uskudar University in my next article/blog because I have gone thru these protocols in detail, which you can read about at all

Thank you a lot. Please let me know what kind of concern or feedback you have after reading my experience.
