For Students, The TRC process When you land in Turkey

I’ll try to describe how I applied for a (TRC) Turkey Resident Permit while on a student visa, as well as how I completed the All Documents Required for a Resident Permit requirements, in this blog. And how I went through all of this while applying for a TRC in Istanbul, Turkey. I cannot ensure that the same method and documents will be followed in other cities. Over time, the Turkish government may change the laws and regulations.

🏆Student Enrolment Certificate

One of the most significant papers you will want is that when you arrive in Turkey, you will be qualified to use the student travel card, which will allow you to transit anywhere in Istanbul, and this certificate will assist you at many stages. So, take your enrollment certificate to your university and make a few copies of it.

🏥Evidence of Health Insurance (Sigorta)

You may not need to be hospitalized for your illnesses in many circumstances. Even so, you just need to pay for the therapies that are not normally less expensive; health insurance will cover part of them, but not all of them, and it will aid you in many phases, such as doctor appointments, lab tests, and so on. You must get one year’s minimum of health insurance. In Turkey, there are several health insurance policies available that may assist you in a variety of ways. Based on my previous experience, I chose Dogansigorta insurance.

💸Yearly TAX fees Turkey for students (vergi numarası)

A tax number is needed for every registration and financial transaction in Turkey, as well as to create a bank account. Individuals are granted a ten-digit Tax Identification Number.

Obtaining a Tax ID number is a simple process. You should apply for it at any local tax office. “Your original passport” and a “copy of your passport” are the only papers required for this transaction. Visit the office fill out the basic query form and submit it.

You can visit any Tax Office (Vergi Dairesi) in your area to be able to obtain the Tax Number.

My preference (Fatih Vergi Dairesi Müdürlüğü, Topkapı, Yılanlı Ayazma Yolu No:15, 34010 Fatih/İstanbul)

📄Nüfus

You must register your address in the Directorate of Population Office (Nüfus müdürlüğü) in your area.

You can do so by giving them the house rental contract, and any of the following bills (internet/water/electricity) that shows your name with the address.

  1. Open the e-Devlet website, and search for “Yerleşim Yeri (İkametgah) ve Diğer Adres Belgesi Sorgulama” which means, Place of residence, and address document inquiry.
  2. You have to put a check where it’s required, then on the next page, choose the option (Kendisi), which means, “myself”.
  3. Choose “kişi talebi” to get it for yourself for later use.
  4. Now that you’ve done this, you could print this paper, and you could submit it to any unit.
  5. Book an appointment Randevu.nvi nearest location or you may select out of your area as well

OR

The alternative procedure is to present your homeowner along with your house/apartment rental contract and any of the following invoices (internet/water/electricity) that correctly identify your name and address. Book an appointment Randevu.nvi closest site and accompany your homeowner there so that one of the government officials may add your information base to your paperwork.

🏠Residence Permit Application Form (e-İkamet — Göç İdaresi)

NOTE: An application can only be made after entering Turkey and registering at the university. It is not possible to make it outside the country.
Students are not allowed to leave Turkey unless they’ve received a residence permit.
The Receipt of Residence Permit Card Payment (160 TL or higher ) If you have paid the fee at the tax office, keep the original document. If you pay online, download the payment receipt and print it

The printout of the residence permit application document. Do not forget to sign the signature section on the first page of the application form. Fill out the form e-ikameet and make it print out

Collect all these documents and submit them to your nearest e-İkamet — Göç İdaresi office
