👾Your developer is not your enemy

For a long time, based on my experience, some designers tend to jump straight into creating futuristic designs or prototypes and design concepts that may not be practical or take too much time to implement. As a result, projects often suffer from these poor decisions.

It is advisable to start with a design idea or consider a scroll or hover effect, or any other type of transition you are thinking of creating. It is crucial to discuss these ideas with your team members who interact with developers or with yourself. This can be highly beneficial for the project because your team can assess the implementation time costs and capabilities within the timeline and ensure project deadlines are met.

In the next blog, I will share some of my tops recommended references that inspire me to improve my design aesthetic and perspectives, and they will be incredibly useful to you as well.

🤔Understand the Business Requirement

We were all aware that product design is not based on the artist or subjective thing we build something that has a goal and supports the market or target audience’s problem most of the time we get into design too deeper analysis and forget what precisely was it.

We must ensure that anything we will be pursuing in the timeline meets the challenges or product MVP. Many businesses are constantly upgrading their design according to user advice or reviews, therefore this is a journey in which you have to survive and improve your design.

🥴Lack of consistency in Design

Design consistency is a crucial aspect of product development. As a designer, it is important to ensure consistency in every layout and page to maintain a uniform design aesthetic.

Many designers adopt a design system to help maintain consistency and ensure that developers face no difficulties in selecting colours, font sizes, or anything else related to the product. Adhering to the system provided by the designer streamlines the process.

Product design firms often create their own design systems to meet their specific requirements, saving a considerable amount of time in the project timeline. Additionally, the design system is constantly evolving and improving, with updates made to strengthen its structure.

These two design systems are widely used in the market.

When discussing deliverables, it’s important to avoid using jargon that may confuse the developer. Instead, use language that is straightforward and easy to understand. This helps ensure everyone is on the same page throughout the project.

We must provide clear guidelines to developers regarding the design structure they should follow and be explicit about the handoff requirements for each device to prevent confusion across projects.

There are various companies that offer handoff tools to simplify the process of delivering the final product. These tools create a document that contains all the necessary data and digital assets for the development team to bring the product to fruition.

These two handoff tools i frequently use n my system.
